Testosterone therapy (TRT) and enclomiphene

Hormone therapy is prescribed only when a licensed provider determines it is medically appropriate after reviewing your symptoms and labs. Testosterone is a controlled substance and requires labs and a live visit before prescribing. Some hormone preparations are compounded by a licensed pharmacy; compounded medications are not FDA approved. Enclomiphene is an FDA-approved medication prescribed off-label. Results vary from person to person.

Do I need labs before hormone therapy?
Yes. Hormone treatment is guided by testing. If you have recent results you can upload them; otherwise your provider orders a draw at a lab near you. Testosterone in particular requires labs and a live visit with a provider before it can be prescribed.
What does hormone care cost?
HRT for women is $399 for the first month, which covers the first visit, lab review, follow-up visit and personalized plan, then $149 a month. Testosterone therapy starts with a $249 evaluation that includes baseline labs, then $99 a month for refills, with a renewal visit about every six months. Enclomiphene and specialty panels such as the DUTCH test are priced in the scheduler.
Is HRT safe for women in perimenopause and menopause?
For many women it is an appropriate option, and for some it is not. Your provider reviews your symptoms, history and labs together, discusses the risks and benefits that apply to you, and prescribes only if it is appropriate. There is no blanket answer, which is why the visit matters.
Is there a testosterone cutoff for TRT?
No blanket number. Providers look at symptoms and labs together and follow established clinical protocols. Some men with borderline results are candidates; some with low numbers are not. Testosterone is a controlled substance and is prescribed only after labs and a live visit.
How do refills and renewals work?
Once you are established, refills are handled monthly through your patient portal. Testosterone therapy includes a renewal visit with your provider about every six months, with labs to make sure the plan still fits.
What is enclomiphene?
A prescription medication some providers use off-label to support the body's own testosterone production while preserving fertility. Whether it is appropriate for you, compared with testosterone replacement or no treatment, is a decision for your visit.
Will hormone therapy be compounded?
It depends on the medication your provider prescribes. Some hormone preparations are FDA-approved products and some are compounded by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient. Compounded medications are not FDA approved. Your provider tells you which applies to your plan.
Can I do this if I already have a doctor?
Yes. Many patients keep their primary care physician and use REFUVIA for hormone care specifically. Tell your provider about every medication and condition, and you can share your records from the portal with any other clinician.
